Alex Garcia Alex Garcia was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. During his early years, he was immersed in painting, sculpture, and music. He pursued a BA in Architecture at the University of Buenos Aires, and later on a Master in Architecture, Design and Urbanism. In 1988, he began designing furniture, and discovered the joy of playing with a wide range of materials and techniques, which evolved into a combination of wood, metal, resin, glass, and he is constantly experimenting with new mediums. Alex Garcia's first tables were made with simple pieces of wood glued side by side. The artist started showing his work at galleries, and promptly decided to dive into a more artistic venture. The next natural step was to bring his vision to the walls. The dialogue created by the combination of textures, colors, and dimensions evokes nature in its pure, controlled, yet fanciful expression. At the same time, sensorial experiences and organic abstractions represent humans' drive for interpreting reality and our mental processes. |
